You have to agree with the fact that organizations which do not have a good performance management system in place, can have a negative impact on both the employees along with the managers. If there is a well deserved performance management in place it is rewarding for both the employee as well as the management.

 Managers are so busy with their routine work that they miss out on the opportunity to interact with the staff which helps them to understand things better. It forces them to discuss the performance issues with them at the same time. This encourages positive employee development

All employees are  on a development journey and it is the responsibility of the organization to drive them towards the summit of success. If the performance management system is done in an effective manner, it will formulate better work opportunities and translate the potential into success.

Performance appraisal is the celebration of all the wonderful things which a staff has done over the course of a particular year. It should encourage them and there should ne no surprises if issues they addressed are not dealt in the annual review meeting. The focus should be on what the employee is doing well.
When pay rises or bonus are linked to the performance appraisal process, there is a direct correlation that is established between the performance in relation to financial rewards. This does encourage the employees to give of their best
